General Privacy Policy

This is the general Privacy Policy of Gladmen Inc. ("Gladmen"), Ottawa, K2P 0C9, Ontario, Canada for the mobile application ZAP (“app”). The protection, as well as the lawful elicitation, processing and utilization of your data are of major importance for us. Therefore, the processing of your data strictly adheres to legal regulations. In the following, we want to inform you about information we receive about you and how we use it. 1. Information we receive

In order to use the app it is necessary to share your LinkedIn® full profile, connections, contact info, invitations and messages, as well as the email you use in conjunction with your LinkedIn® profile. For the full range use of the app you are also asked to provide your location when using the app, read stream access to your Facebook® account and Twitter® profile. This data is used to provide you and others with features and services specific to the app.

When people use ZAP, they may store and share information about you and others that they have, such as when they met you and notes they added to your profile. We receive data about you whenever you use or are running ZAP, such as when you look at another person's profile, send an email, search for someone, click on, view or otherwise interact with things. When we get your GPS location, we put it together with other location information we have about you (like your current city). But we only keep it until it is no longer useful to provide you services like “when and where you met others”.

2. Data Utilization

We use the information we receive about you in connection with the services and features we provide to you and other users like your contacts, our partners, and the developers that build the application. For example, we may use the information we receive about you:
  • (1) as part of our efforts to keep ZAP products, services and integrations safe and secure;
  • (2) to protect Gladmen's or others' rights or property;
  • (3) to provide you with location features and services, like when and where you met;
  • (4) to measure or understand the effectiveness and relevance of features;
  • (5) for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research and service improvement.

Granting us permission to use your information not only allows us to provide ZAP as it exists today, but it also allows us to provide you with innovative features and services we develop in the future that use the information we receive about you in new ways.

While you are allowing us to use the information we receive about you, you always own all of your information. Your trust is important to us, which is why we don't share information we receive about you with others unless we have:

  • (1)received your permission;
  • (2)given you notice, such as by telling you about it in this policy; or
  • (3)removed your name and any other personally identifying information from it.
Of course, for information others share about you, they control how it is shared.

3. Reports

Gladmen occasionally discloses statistical information about app usage (e.g number of contact transactions) in an aggregated form to vendors, advertisers events, and other third parties. We remove your name and any other personally identifying information from this data.

4. Information and Cancellation Rights

You have the right to be informed about stored data, its source and receiver, as well the purpose of its processing at any time. Furthermore, you can withdraw from the consent for data processing and utilization informally at any time with future effect. Ideally, please send a short e-mail containing your message with links to your LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter profiles to privacy@gladmen.co In the event of a withdrawal, your data – except for justified exceptions in cases of abuse – will of course be immediately and completely deleted once your identity has been verified, please allow up to 90 days for all cached and logged information about you to be permanently deleted.

5. Changes to the Privacy Policy

If we make changes to this Privacy Policy we will notify you (for example, by publication here). If the changes are material, we will provide you additional, prominent notice as appropriate under the circumstances.
